Inmates to get facility of Hepatitis C diagnosis

The district Health Department has initiated a programme under which it will provide the facility of Hepatitis C diagnosis to Central Jail inmates.

Health officials said now, there would be no need to take the prisoners to the Civil Hospital for Hepatitis C diagnosis and treatment.

Dr Prabhdeep Kaur Johal, a health official, said diagnosis and treatment of Hepatitis C would be done at the jail dispensary and arrangements for it had been made. She said camps are being organised for screening of hepatitis patients.
