UF Health to release drugs that could cure Hepatitis C

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Researchers at UF Health will soon release a set of drugs they say can cure Hepatitis C.

Hospital officials say their drugs will treat all six common types of viral infection. The drug treatment will also include patients who don’t respond to existing prescriptions.

The hospital’s drug combination has FDA approval and marketing commitment.

Hepatitis C damages the liver. The virus affects more than 70 million people around the world.
